From Rincón to Cahuita
11 days / 10 nights, departing from San José
Departure in minibus at 7,30 am from San José to Rincón Volcano at the north of the country. Settling for 2 nights in a small lodge surrounded by nature just by the volcano.
D2 - Rincón de la Vieja
Walk in Rincón de la Vieja National Park, visit of the volcanic and solfatare phenomena and visit of Las Pailas. Swim in a stream. This tour can be done in option horse riding with a guide. Back to the lodge.
D3 - Rincón / Playa Potrero
2 hours by bus to get to Bahia Potrero on the Pacific Coast. Settling for 2 nights in a hotel by the beach. Walk on the beach and swimming in the ocean or in the pool of the hotel.
Relaxing day at the beach. In option, boat tour to observe dolphins or to practice diving. Playa Potrero and the small islands of Santa Catalina are famous for submarine-life observation: coral reefs, tropical fishes, manta rays…
D5 - Potrero / Monteverde
Morning at the beach and departure in minibus at the beginning of the afternoon to Monteverde. Arrival in early evening in a small lodge near Santa Elena.
After breakfast, enjoy the Skywalk, suspension bridges above the canopy. In option for the brave ones the Sky Trek, an impressive canopy tour full of adrenalin. There are numerous walks and visits available in Santa Elena and its vicinities.
D7 - Monteverde / Arenal
Morning in Monteverde. Departure in the beginning of the afternoon by Interbus shuttle to Arenal. Arrival at La Fortuna, small town situated just by the Arenal Volcano. Settling for 2 nights in a hotel in La Fortuna. Dinner not included in the evening. Keep an eye on the volcano, in clear weather; the activity is spectacular at night.
D8 - Arenal Volcano
Breakfast. We recommend you to visit the amazing La Fortuna amazing waterfall, at the far end of a basaltic amphitheater. It is possible to go for a swim (entrance 7$). In the beginning of the afternoon, meet your English-speaking guide for a tour of Volcano Arenal National Park, it includes as well the entrance in the natural thermal bath (hot springs) and the dinner in the evening. Hotel in La Fortuna.
D9 - Arenal / Cahuita
Early departure for the Caribbean Coast and Limón. Arrival in Cahuita late morning. Settling in a hotel in the heart of exuberant vegetation. Spend the afternoon at the wonderful Cahuita beach and in the village living at the Rasta rhythms!
D10 - Cahuita National Park
Spend the day in Cahuita National Park: swimming, snorkelling, walks along the coastal trail that skirt round the park by the forest.
D11 - Cahuita / San José
Return in minibus. Arrival in San José in the afternoon.
