Delivery of your rental 4x4 at your hotel. Departure for the Irazú Volcano and its impressive active crater. Passing Cartago, Costa Rica’s former capital, don’t miss the visit of the Basilica Nuestra Señora de Los Angeles dedicated to the Black Virgin. Settling for 2 nights in a hotel B&B near Paraíso, where you will enjoy a panoramic view on the Tapanti Valley.
D2 - Paraíso / Orosi
Breakfast. In the morning, visit of a butterfly farm. Excursion toward Ujarrás ruins, the small town of Orosi, its nice colonial church and its thermal springs. In option, visit of Lankester Botanic Garden.
D3 - Paraíso / Dota
Breakfast. You will take the road that will drive you towards the hills of the Cerro de la Muerte before getting access to the beautiful Valley of San Gerardo de Dota, the quetzal’s paradise. Settling for 1 night in a mountain hotel at a height of 2 200 meters.
D4 - Dota / Barú
Early excursion with a local guide to observe the mythical Quetzal, bird symbol of Central America. Descent towards the Pacific Coast and the South of the country. Arrival in Dominical and settling in a hotel B&B located in a private nature reserve.
D5 - Barú / Dominical
After breakfast, visit of Hacienda Barú’s nature reserve with its trails and its pristine beach. High potential of fauna observation: monkeys, coatis, sloths, toucans… In option you can practice canopy between the trees of the wonderful forest dominating the Pacific Ocean.
D6 - Barú / Manuel Antonio
Breakfast. Dirt road along the Pacific Coast. Settling iin a comfortable hotel near Manuel Antonio NP. Walk and swimming in the Pacific.
D7 – Manuel Antonio National Park
Breakfast. A public bus will take you to the entrance of Manuel Antonio National Park, which protects sumptuous white sand beaches surrounded by the humid tropical forest. The park’s trails enable you to observe a remarkable and very present fauna. In option, a tour of the park with local guides equipped with binoculars. Return to the hotel.
D8 - Manuel Antonio / San José
Breakfast. Return towards San José. Return of your rental 4x4.
