From Tortuguero to Manuel Antonio

Early departure from San José to Tortuguero. The transport bus + boat is provided by the lodge which also provides an English-speaking guide. The road passes through the hills of Braulio Carillo National Park before diving into the Caribbean plain. Boarding in the boat through the canals of Tortuguero. Arrival at the lodge around mid-day, lunch and settling for 2 nights. Walk in the village. Visit of the Turtle Museum.
D2 - Tortuguero
Early guided walk, breakfast and visit of Tortuguero National Park by boat. Admire its late morning. Relaxing afternoon: walk in the lodge’s reserve, butterfly farm, swimming pool…
D3 - Tortuguero / Arenal
Return by boat after breakfast. Restaurant around Guapiles. Shuttle Interbus at 1 pm for Volcano Arenal. Arrival in La Fortuna, small town situated just by the Arenal Volcano. Settling for 2 nights in a hotel in La Fortuna. Dinner not included in the evening. Keep an eye on the volcano, in clear weather; the activity is spectacular at night.
D4 - Arenal Volcano
Breakfast. We recommend you to visit the amazing La Fortuna amazing waterfall, at the far end of a basaltic amphitheater. It is possible to go for a swim (entrance 7$). In the beginning of the afternoon, meet your English-speaking guide for a tour of Volcano Arenal National Park, it includes as well the entrance in the natural thermal bath (hot springs) and the dinner in the evening. Hotel in La Fortuna.
D5 - Arenal / Monteverde
After breakfast, departure with Interbus to Monteverde. Arrival around mid-day and settling in a small lodge near Santa Elena. Free afternoon. Numerous visits are possible (such as the Ranario, a superb frog exhibition, better to see it at night).
D6 - Monteverde
After breakfast, enjoy the skywalk, suspension bridges above the canopy. . In option for the brave ones the sky Trek, an impressive canopy tour full of adrenalin. The hikers can explore Santa Elena cloud forest. Back to the lodge.
D7 - Monteverde / Manuel Antonio
Departure by minibus after breakfast. Descent towards the Pacific Coast and the South of the country. Settling in a comfortable hotel in Manuel Antonio. Walk on the beach and swimming in the Pacific Ocean.
D8 - Manuel Antonio
Breakfast. A public bus will take you to the entrance of Manuel Antonio National Park, which protects sumptuous white sand beaches surrounded by the humid tropical forest. The park’s trails enable you to observe a remarkable and very present fauna. In option, a tour of the park with local guides equipped with binoculars. Back to the hotel.
D9 - Manuel Antonio / San José
After breakfast, departure by shuttle Interbus. Arrival in San José around 1pm.
